1.  What are the referral/authorization guidelines?
 The referral guidelines are included in the TRICARE Overseas Prime Puerto Rico Provider Handbook available on this website. The authorization requirements are also listed in the Provider Handbook.

2.  How do Primary Care Managers submit referral/authorization requests for TRICARE beneficiaries?
 The Patient Referral/Authorization Fax Form or (PRAF) is available under Forms and in the back of the Provider Handbook on this website. This form includes the fax number to submit the request.

3.  Who is handling referral/authorizations for the TRICARE Puerto Rico provider network?
 The Puerto Rico Call Center will receive the Primary Care Manager referral/auth fax request. Clinical staff at the Puerto Rico Call Center will ensure a referral/auth confirmation number is assigned and provide a fax response back to the Primary Care Manager. A confirmation fax can also be forwarded to the specialist/hospital.
